Everyone thinks the fire has almost been extinguished, but at 3:00am, another explosive fire suddenly breaks out, burning a large part of the ship. On the docks, an extensive international investigation begins.
Norwegian police receive a tip that a convicted arsonist was among the deceased. The suspect is a Danish truck driver, and despite the lack of evidence, Norwegian police decide to name him as the perpetrator.
The ship is left in a port in England, waiting for a new owner. It’s eventually purchased for a small amount by an unknown company from the Bahamas. A Norwegian journalist starts a closer investigation.
After pressure from an independent investigation group, Norwegian police re-open the case in 2014. A crew member decides to step forward and tell his story for the first time, 30 years after the disaster.
