Bare Essence

Courtesy of TV Guide: A limited-run series based on the 1982 TV-movie about the perfume business- the glamour, the romance, the high stakes intrigue, the naked ambition. The opener celebrates the marriage of Tyger Hayes to her former boss Chase Marshall, which instigates a series of power plays by Chase's aunt Ava to ensure that her son Marcus, and not Chase, inherits the Marshall fortune.

Courtesy of TV Guide: Tyger is receiving phone calls claiming Chase was murdered; Marcus has a plan to ruin the perfume company; Hadden refuses to believe the truth about Sean's mother; and Ava is keeping a cautious eye on the hospitalized Margaret.

Courtesy of TV Guide: Niko moves to wipe out Sean financially- and to possess Lady Bobbi; Ava tries to use the power of the press to discredit Tyger; Lieutenant Duclos flies in from France, claiming to have proof that Chase was murdered; the mysterious phone calls about Chase's death escalate, propelling his widow toward a nervous breakdown.

Courtesy of TV Guide: Sean goes to work with Tyger; Tim is traded to a California football team; Alan plots against Niko, who's preparing for a lavish party aboard his yacht; and a benefit bash brings out the upper crust of society- and results in a few unexpected pairings.

Courtesy of TV Guide: One of the passengers aboard Niko's yacht is murdered; Sean and Tyger arrive in France to track down the man who claims Chase was murdered; and Ava takes the next step in her plot to get Hadden to marry her.

Courtesy of TV Guide: He doesn't put it quite that way, but Niko asks Bobbi to be his wedded pawn in his vendetta with the Marshall family. Meanwhile, Sean and Tyger are stunned by the wedding plans of Ava and Hadden.

Courtesy of TV Guide: Ava feels threatened by Muffin's knowledge of her secret, and Sean feels threatened by Tyger's admiration for a commercial director. Meanwhile, Alexi questions Bobbi about the yacht murder.

Courtesy of TV Guide: Bobbi awaits news of Niko's condition following the hit-and-run accident; Ava holds Tyger responsible for her accident; and Larry disagrees with Tyger about promoting her mother as a natural for the perfume commercial.

Courtesy of TV Guide: In the series conclusion, Ava usurps enough power in the family business to place Marcus in a key position; Larry gets trapped in his game plan to encourage Tyger to fall in love with him; Muffin's plot takes shape with Hadden's progressing illness; and a marketing campaign could put Bobbi in the headlines of a fashion magazine.
