Wilhelmina, een leven voor de troon

Documentary

Due to the economic crisis, Wilhelmina is canceling official receipts and gala clothes. There is more color in the Orange family again through the marriage of Bernhard and Juliana, even though the husband comes from the hated Hitler Germany. When the Second World War actually breaks out, the young generation and the idea of innovation give the Queen new inspiration in London.

The upbringing of 10-year-old Wilhelmina is all about the succession to the throne after her father Willem III passed away. A publicity campaign around the little girl should increase the popularity of the Oranges. Successfully. Although there is still talk of a terrorist threat, the vast majority of the Netherlands cheers when Wilhelmina is officially crowned in 1898.
