First Act

The struggle to break into this challenging industry continues, as some child actors tackle financial pressures and cunning adversaries while others deal with unrestrained parental ambitions.

The stakes rise as children enter the audition arena, where they must deliver at all costs or deal with both dissatisfied parents and loss of self-esteem.

The clock ticks, but families refuse to let the dream die. Is this relentless pursuit a source of happiness or just an exhausting rat race for the child?

As the child actor of an oscar-winning film shares what it means to reach the heights and then slow-dive to anonymity, stakeholders advise that there’s much more to a child’s life than a ‘role.’
