Up nextThere surely isn't anyone who doesn't love those wonderful sharp-intake-of-breath moments on Antiques Roadshow when a member of the public hears that granny's old teapot or a thimble they bought for 5p at a car-boot sale is worth a fortune. Every day for the next three weeks we can see some of the most thrilling valuations (and occasionally low-key reactions to such good fortune, although personally I prefer the owners who gasp and then insist they'll never sell it when you know they're just itching to get it to the auction room). Among today's classic valuations are a "lost" painting and a bag full of silverware worth a quarter of a million. Other priceless moments from Antiques Roadshow's 30-year history include Rupert Maas's infamous "Shropshire ankle" reference and the ultimate out-take when ceramic expert David Battie muddled up the words "Victoria Regina".
